Important 2019 Tax Deadlines - Tally Services

Like it or not, 2019 is coming to an end – which means your business tax filing dates will be here before you know it. In this handy tax deadlines guide from Tally Services, we’ll cover all the important dates you should be aware of for filing and paying your 2019 taxes. Depending on the kind of business you own, you may have been paying estimated quarterly taxes all along, but the final, official filings and payments will be due in early 2020.

 

 

Tax Deadlines for 2019 Business Taxes
The 2020 deadlines for your 2019 tax filings are listed here: 

Partnerships  – Form 1065
Due date – March 16, 2020
Extension – September 15, 2020

S Corporations  – Form 1120S
Due date – March 16, 2020
Extension – September 15, 2020

C CorporationsForm 1120
Due date – April 15, 2020
Extension – October 15, 2020

Sole Proprietor Form 1040
Due date – April 15, 2020
Extension – October 15, 2020

Nonprofit Form 990
Due date – May 15, 2020
Extension – November 16, 2020

Each kind of filing allows for a 6-month extension if you’re unable to get your taxes in order by the deadline. If you plan to extend your taxes, you must fill out Form 7004 for business taxes to request more time. However, please be aware: there is no extension for paying your income taxes – you must still calculate and pay taxes by the due date to avoid IRS penalties. 

2020 Estimated Quarterly Tax Payment Due Dates
If your organization pays quarterly tax payments, you will find the quarterly due dates for 2020 below: 

First Quarter  
Due date – April 15, 2020

Second Quarter  
Due date – June 15, 2020

Third Quarter  
Due date – September 15, 2020

Fourth Quarter - Corporations
Due date – December 15, 2020

Fourth Quarter - Individuals
Due date – January 15, 2021
